Grameena Vikas Samithi (GVS) is registered under Societies Registration Act XXI 1860. GVS is constituted by a group of socially conscious and educated young men and women under the influence of Shri. BabaSahebAmte, who were concerned about poverty, illiteracy, hunger and squalor, which compelled areas to some sort of sole-human existence. The organizers of GVS felt that, being relatively better off, they ought to do whatever they could to improve the lot of people in the lowest strata of the society.
At the apex level is general body consisting of men and women, who belong to diverse fields and projections. Management of GVS is vested with Governing Council consisting of seven persons of whom three are women.
The congruence of the like-minded, diversified knowledge, passion and hard work defines GVS as radical organisation with a crystal clear vision. Our work reflects our goal to emancipate poor in the society; in particular people dependent on Agriculture and allied sectors.
